The Dell gaming monitor lineup now includes the SE2426HG and SE2726HG models with Fast IPS In Plane Switching (IPS) panels are an expensive option but they have excellent colour accuracy and far greater viewing angles then TN and VA panels (Not that we condone slouching while gaming). They are great for graphics design and photo editing. However, the only downside to IPS panels if that they can sometimes have a slower response time than TN panels. This is the only real problem if you’re a very competitive gamer or want to game in 3D. As of late “IPS” has become a big marketing word. Step into an Apple store and you would be hard pressed talking to someone that didn’t mention Apple’s “brand new IPS Displays!” In fact, Apple is probably one of the biggest marketers of this “new-found” technology. As a business person myself, this is when you have to tip your hat to Apple’s awesome marketing machine. Why? Well, because IPS is actually nothing new. In fact, this technology was originally invented in 1996 by Hitachi..matrices. Both new products support high refresh rates and AMD FreeSync Premium technology, while their prices are comparable to inexpensive office solutions.
The monitors differ only in display size: 23.8 inches for the SE2426HG and 27 inches for the SE2726HG. Other specifications are identical: 1920x1080 pixel resolution, 240 Hz refresh rate, 300 nits brightness (HDR10 support), 99% sRGB color gamut coverage, and 0.5 ms response time (GtG).
The new models have an anti-glare coating and also support blue light reduction and flicker-free display functions. The viewing angles are 178 degrees both horizontally and vertically.
There are two HDMI 2.1 connectors and one DisplayPort 1.4 connector for connecting a signal source. The set includes a 1.8-meter HDMI cable, as well as a stand with height and tilt adjustment (alternatively, a VESA 100x100 mm bracket can be used).
Both new products are already available on the Chinese market. The Dell SE2426HG is priced at $106, and the SE2726HG at $134.
