A new monitor, the U27U3XD, has been added to the AOC range of devices. Its distinctive feature is support for two operating modes with different resolutions and refresh rates.
The monitor is based on a 27-inch IPS In Plane Switching (IPS) panels are an expensive option but they have excellent colour accuracy and far greater viewing angles then TN and VA panels (Not that we condone slouching while gaming). They are great for graphics design and photo editing. However, the only downside to IPS panels if that they can sometimes have a slower response time than TN panels. This is the only real problem if you’re a very competitive gamer or want to game in 3D. As of late “IPS” has become a big marketing word. Step into an Apple store and you would be hard pressed talking to someone that didn’t mention Apple’s “brand new IPS Displays!” In fact, Apple is probably one of the biggest marketers of this “new-found” technology. As a business person myself, this is when you have to tip your hat to Apple’s awesome marketing machine. Why? Well, because IPS is actually nothing new. In fact, this technology was originally invented in 1996 by Hitachi..panel that can display images at 4K resolution at 144 Hz and in Full HD 1080p (also known as Full HD or FHD and BT.709) is a set of HDTV high-definition video modes characterized by 1080 horizontal lines of vertical resolution and progressive scan, as opposed to interlaced, as is the case with the 1080i display standard. The term usually assumes a widescreen aspect ratio of 16:9, implying a resolution of 1920x1080 (2.1 megapixel) often marketed as Full HD.format at 288 Hz. Other features include HDR400 support, 450 nits peak brightness, 2000:1 contrast ratio, and 4 ms (GtG) response time.
Color accuracy is ΔE < 2, and it also claims to cover 94% of the Adobe RGB color gamut, 100% of sRGB, and 98% of DCI-P3. To protect the user's eyesight, the monitor is equipped with blue light reduction technology.
The AOC U27U3XD has two HDMI 2.1 ports, a DisplayPort 1.4 port, a USB Type-C With the continued success of the USB interface, there exists a need to adapt USB technology to serve newer computing platforms and devices as they trend toward smaller, thinner and lighter form-factors. Many of these newer platforms and devices are reaching a point where existing USB receptacles and plugs are inhibiting innovation, especially given the relatively large size and internal volume constraints of the Standard-A and Standard-B versions of USB connectors. port with 90W charging support, four USB 3.2 Gen1 ports, and a 3.5mm audio output. There are VESA 100 x 100 mm mounting holes for installing the monitor on a bracket. The stand allows the screen to be rotated to portrait mode.
The AOC U27U3XD is priced at $280 in the Chinese market.
