AOC has unveiled two new Gaming G4 series monitors in China. One of their key features is a high refresh rate for their price segment. In addition, the new models have good color accuracy and provide smooth images in dynamic games.
The AOC Gaming 27G4ZR is equipped with a 27-inch Fast IPS In Plane Switching (IPS) panels are an expensive option but they have excellent colour accuracy and far greater viewing angles then TN and VA panels (Not that we condone slouching while gaming). They are great for graphics design and photo editing. However, the only downside to IPS panels if that they can sometimes have a slower response time than TN panels. This is the only real problem if you’re a very competitive gamer or want to game in 3D. As of late “IPS” has become a big marketing word. Step into an Apple store and you would be hard pressed talking to someone that didn’t mention Apple’s “brand new IPS Displays!” In fact, Apple is probably one of the biggest marketers of this “new-found” technology. As a business person myself, this is when you have to tip your hat to Apple’s awesome marketing machine. Why? Well, because IPS is actually nothing new. In fact, this technology was originally invented in 1996 by Hitachi..panel with a resolution of 1920x1080 pixels and a refresh rate of up to 260 Hz. The panel's color gamut is 92.3% of the P3 standard and 121.5% of sRGB, with a response time of 1 ms (GtG). The device has two HDMI 2.0 ports, one DisplayPort, and a 3.5 mm audio output.
The Gaming 24G4ZR model differs only in screen size (24 inches) and color gamut (87.7% P3 and 111.7% sRGB). Both new models support Adaptive-Sync and NVIDIA G-SYNC technologies for improved image smoothness.
The monitors are available in two configurations: with a simplified and adjustable stand (height up to 130 mm, tilt, swivel, and pivot). Prices in China are as follows:
AOC Gaming 27G4ZR ? $204 ($176 with simplified stand) AOC Gaming 24G4ZR ? $176 ($149 with simplified stand)
